Job Overview:
This is a summer 2010 intern position that supports the Engineering Mechanical Design Department. After orientation and training, the candidate will perform entry level engineering tasks on rocket propulsion projects. Candidate will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with Aerojet projects. The candidate must be able to operate effectively in a team environment.

This internship position will start in June, 2010.

Responsibilities:
Perform various mechanical engineering duties for the Mechanical Design and CAD Modeling technical staff.

70% Assist with the development of engineering designs that are used on solid rocket motor and liquid rocket engine applications. Typical tasks may include conceptual design support, part selection research, computer aided design (CAD) and technical presentation support.

20% Become familiar with and utilize computer aided design software tools used to create 3D models and drawings.

10% Generate databases used for data reduction, trend analysis and metrics collection. Provide general clerical support such as PowerPoint presentations and technical report generation.

Qualifications:
Summer intern position. Candidate must be pursuing a Mechanical Engineering (or similar) degree and have completed their junior year. Hands on mechanical experience highly desired but not mandatory. Previous experience with CAD software tools is a plus.

U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person required.
